
Since its inception in late 1981 and its incorporation in 1985, Direct Group has utilised it's origins as a direct marketing specialist to develop into a comprehensive multi-channel retailer offering a wide variety of products to literally millions of loyal customers. Direct Group operates primarily in Australia and New Zealand and communicates directly to it's customers through catalogues, online, television and retail stores.
The Group-owned head office and warehouse premises are built on 5.3 hectares of land in the northern suburbs of Sydney, Australia. An international product sourcing and market research office is based in Henley, England.
The corporate structure constitutes a holding company Direct Group Pty Limited, comprising three operating divisions and 12 wholly owned or majority controlled subsidiaries and business units.
From an organisational standpoint, the group is divided into three main operating divisions each run relatively autonomously. Each Division has a clear brief to continue expanding within their speciality area. Each operating division is designed to be as self sufficient as practical, and selected services are provided by corporate support.
Incorporates all the catalogue brands mailed direct to the customer. Innovations is the original and remains the flagship catalogue. Other catalogues include Damart, Fox Collection and the relatively new brands Victoria Hill, Entertainment Masters, Gaiam and Early Learning World.
The major brand is HomeCare, with catalogues distributed direct to the household throughout Australia and New Zealand by over 2,500 commissioned agents.
Runs two 24 hour shopping channels, TVSN and EXPO, both broadcast on all the subscription TV services in Australia. TVSN provides live TV shopping, showcasing a wide variety of merchandise in jewellery, beauty, health, homewares and electrical. EXPO features product of external advertisers, sold in 30 second, 4 minute and half hour formats.
Provides statutory and strategic group direction through the Executive Board as well as managing Facilities, IT Infrastructure, Finance, Supply Chain and Human Resources.
